Once again, we are back with another update with the Odalisk Tournament which was the turn of RAF Lossiemouth to host. After many different games getting thrown into the hat the game that was chosen was Halo Infinite. For those who don’t know what Halo Infinite is well it is a first person shooter game with plenty of different modes to play. We stuck with Slayer (most kills wins), Oddball (Hold the ball to gain points) and Stronghold (Hold certain locations to gain points).
Unfortunately, this tournament didn’t really play out the way the Phantoms would have liked because there was a recruitment struggle between Odiham and Akrotiri to get enough players to field the desired team sizes. Originally it was meant to be 6 players from each team however the other camps couldn’t field that many players. It ended up being a Lossiemouth (6) vs Odiham & Akrotiri (10) for all the games. We are still very thankful for all the players which got involved across all 3 camps. Don’t let the numbers fall you; it’s not the size of the dog in the fight it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
Though the Phantoms started with nerves with playing against a much higher number of players they held strong. The Phantoms dominated near enough every single game and morale was high. Slayer finished with a 50 – 21 win to Lossiemouth, Oddball finished with a 2-0 win to Lossiemouth, and Stronghold finished with a 500-251 win to Lossiemouth. Capture the flag was not played due to sheer player size.
The Stronghold match on the map Firing Range was the closest of all with the teams of Akrotiri and Odiham taking an early lead due to being able to cover the map area with there numbers. Once the Phantoms had settled down and started to get the call outs of where the enemy were and where they would be spawning the match started to turn. On this map AS1 (T) Rombach dropped 53 kills with a high spree of 14 kills within 1 life holding back the enemy from getting any extra points on the board.
This now means that Lossiemouth Phantoms have won two events in a row cementing there stance as the top team so far. Whatever game thrown at the team so far has been dominated and we are hoping to continue that run onto the next game which has been chosen by Odiham. Odiham have chosen to play Fortnite at the next event. So far we do not have a confirmed date, but we do know it is going to be a kill race on zero build duo’s. The highest 3 kill games over a 2 hour period will be entered and those scores tallied up to see who is victorious.
The Phantoms are hoping to make these 3 event wins in a row, but only time will tell. Stay tuned into this page and join the official Lossiemouth Phantoms discord to receive all the news with regards to getting involved.
