Wednesday 13 April marked the RAF Lossiemouth VGEA’s second single player challenge event, hosted on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for the Playstation 4. Participants raced to run the training ground, throwing grenades and hitting targets in as fast a time as possible. It was a tough challenge, but ultimately Sam Gillard from GSS dominated the leaderboard with a completion time of 14.60 seconds. His closest competitor, Kaleb Gillie, took second place with 16.95 seconds.

The competition was fierce, with the initial bar being set at 19.25s by Dean Bowditch, then lowered to 17.50s as he beat his own time. A few more competitors attempted to pit themselves against this new target, and some were close with times around 19-20s, but ultimately couldn’t beat it. Dominick Seago chipped the target time down to 17.25s after, giving him the third place slot, and Kaleb Gillie brought it down further to the time that gave him second place. But Sam Gillard had a strong run – he couldn’t get as close to his winning time even on later attempts!

The challenge was once again hosted in the Barrel and Bean – our appreciation to the staff for hosting us and keeping the pizza coming in a steady stream! We also brought the VR along again on the side, with people coming along to try games like Beat Saber, Vader Immortal and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. The staff at the Barrel and Bean took the chance to try their hand at it as well!

The monthly events are continuing, with the next event being a FIFA comeback challenge, starting you 1-0 down and seeing how many goals you can get back in the allocated time!

All the monthly events are open to military, civil and dependents (game age rating depending) and run from 1500-2200, so keep your eyes peeled for posters and come on down to see us!
