August event was VR Beat Saber. Highest score in the chosen difficulty. Players would battle it out to Radioactive by Imagination Dragons for the chance at being the musical jedi master! For one of the more popular games within VR, Beat Saber gives the player a glimpse into what some would consider their childhood dream of being a Jedi. With a touch of modern music.

Our bench marker, Ian Reid from LSS obtain a score of 229,115 (Normal Difficulty) who came second in the Normal category. Setting the benchmark for the Hard difficulty was sent by Emily Naylor from ATC with a score of an impressive 462,213 which again came second in the Hard category.

Thank you once again to the Barrel and Bean staff for feeding and watering us and for hosting us for our monthly event. The cinema club room has been a great place to host these more casual events, and we intend to keep them going throughout the coming year! The VGC has been in contact with the E-sports club from Akrotiri to discuss some community nights on games like Rocket League and Call of Duty, helping to broaden our options for fun social gaming opportunities in future.
